LPP spoils truck driver’s plan for a short work day

October 13th, 2009

Last month we installed a Lithium Power Pack (LPP) in an electric vehicle at a busy work facility. This was a trial, so that the client could experience the superior energy storage, burst and durability of the Lithium Power Pack, which includes state-of-the-art lithium-ion cells and our proprietary Battery Management System (BMS).

How to make your utility truck 588 pounds lighter

September 3rd, 2009

Taylor Dunn ET 150How much can the right battery solution improve your performance?

We’re going to find out — and one fleet manager is going to be very happy. GRRReen technicians today swapped out some lead acid batteries in a Taylor Dunn ET-150 72V Electruck for the Lithium Power Pack from GRRReen.

And they made the truck a lot lighter in the process.

They removed 12 AGM lead-acid battery cells that weighed a total of 770 pounds, and replaced  them with one 100 Amp Hour, 72V Lithium Power Pack that weighed only 182 pounds.

After reducing the weight of the vehicle by 588 pounds, it might be necessary to rewrite the spec sheet.

It says here that the RT-150, powered by an electric drivetrain, “can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour, while providing over 40 miles in range,” and that it will “carry loads of up to 1,500 pounds.”

We’ll be watching closely to see how much farther and faster it will go now that it’s powered by the Lithium Power Pack!

Become a GRRReen partner

handshakeGRRReen has taken the lead in providing advanced battery technology for smaller electric vehicles, by making the Lithium Power Pack available in two ways:

•    For purchase, for those customers who want to own their product outright.

•    As a managed service, for those who prefer to avoid capital expenditures, and would rather not even think about batteries.

Either way, customers love the increased power, extended range, lower weight and longer life of the Lithium Power Pack – and they love having the choice of how to buy them.

Lithium ion is emerging as the battery technology of choice for powering smaller electric vehicles, as well as other applications, both mobile and stationary.

If you would like to learn more about providing your customers with the advanced Lithium Power Pack from GRRReen, contact us at 858.951.3111, or sales@GRRReen.com.

Driving down the cost of driving

April 3rd, 2009

Here’s a graph from the Energy Information Administration (by way of Treehugger.com) that illustrates fuel savings achieved by a plug in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) as compared to a vehicle with an internal combustion engine over the life of the vehicle.
