GRRReen debuts at San Diego IndieFest V
San Diego’s North Park neighborhood was rocking to the sounds of the fifth annual IndieFest on Saturday.
We were there as the sponsor of the Green Stage, which hosted 16 diverse musical acts during the day-long festival, from the West African drummers of Tam Tam Mandingue to the heavy metal madness of (Sic)Monic, and other acts including punk, Latin, country, acoustic, and urban R&B artists.
We debuted our new GRRReen brand, showing off our converted F150, and supporting this event’s commitment to independent thought and sustainable practices.
Scores of people dropped by to see our bench unit, which demonstrates the engineering behind our plug-in hybrid conversion kit; and to talk about how plug-in hybrids can help reduce our reliance on foreign oil, decrease carbon emissions, and save money.

will the bench unit be at your next event? i want to see that up close.
Yeah, I’m sure we’ll bring it out again. Or come on by the office — we’ve got it set up in our reception area. It has a bunch of batteries below, a software controller, and a motor that hooks up to the differential — which you can get spinning pretty fast!
I’d like one. I have been trying to buy a Phoenix Motorcars SUT for 2 years, even to the point of paying 54k up front for the truck. My delivery date was suppossed to be last July, now they are telling me it most likely won’t be by this summer! Fortunately, I got all my money back, so kuddo’s to Phoenix MC for that.
Can I configure your truck to cover my 71 mile commute in all EV mode? I’d like to do that if possible, i.e., all EV for the first 80 – 100 miles with hybrid mode engaging after that. Please advise if you have a large enough battery pack to accomplish this. If not, can I add to it so it can?
